Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section
Formed in 1987-1988 by Judge T. Jackson Bedford, Jr. and Robert G. Wellon, the Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section was one of the first Bar Association Sections in the Country to dedicate programs and benefits for sole practitioners and small firms. The Section became known as “Atlanta’s Largest Law Firm” because by 1995 the membership had increased to over 550 and always provides some of the advantages of a large-firm practice to the members. The Section’s goal is to increase revenue, enhance efficiency and improve productivity of its members.
The Section continues to flourish and helps members to improve the quality and profitability of their practices through:
-
Networking activities
-
Seminars
-
Outreach to law schools
-
Social events
The Section also offers one program a month, a breakfast held on the third Thursday of each month or a lunch, held on the fourth Thursday of each month, both of which offer educational programs on:
The Section also offers pro bono opportunities for the members through the programs of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, the Veteran’s Administration Legal Clinic and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s Grandparent/Relative Caregiver Project.
The annual dues of $15 for the first year of practice and $30 thereafter for members of the Atlanta Bar Association are a bargain. Join today!
