Election Qualifying and Ethic Forms
Every elected official including judges of appellate, county and municipal courts, are considered Public Officials who are subjected to the following reporting guidelines:
Qualifying Deadlines for Nonpartisan Judicial Candidates Seeking State Wide & County Judgeships:
2012 Elections follow a census data release; therefore, qualifying commences at 9:00am on Wednesday following third Monday in May and shall cease 12:00 noon on the Friday immediately following that Wednesday. See O.C.G.A § 21-2-153 & O.C.G.A. § 21-2-132.
Qualifying Period: 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 until 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012
Overview of Filing Deadlines:
A Public Elected Official must annually file all three forms listed below
1. Campaign Contribution Disclosure Reports (CCDR):
Non-election year: June 30st and December 31st.
Election year: March 31st; June 30th; Sept. 30th; Oct 25th; Dec. 31st.
2. Personal Financial Disclosure Statement (PFDS): (Only one required per year)
Non-election years: between January 1st and July 1st, for activity of preceding calendar year.
Election years: No later than 15th day following qualifying, for activity of preceding calendar year, unless seeking statewide office, which is then no later than seven days following qualifying or filing of a notice of candidacy. 3. State Business Transaction Report:
Filed on or before January 31st of each year, if there are reportable transactions.
