About The Program:  
Fundamentals for Guardians ad Litem – This training will outline the role of a Guardian ad Litem and explore the common, and often complex, issues Guardians face.  We will visit child custody and visitation laws in Georgia and discuss topics such as how to assess and navigate high-conflict custody disputes; a Guardian’s role in negotiations; child abuse; the impact of domestic violence on children, and; and religious, cultural and ethical considerations. This session will be taught by seasoned attorneys and experienced Guardians ad Litem and is intended to enrich your volunteer experience as a Guardian ad Litem in DeKalb County.  


Registration Fees:

Atlanta Bar Members: $40


Law Student Members: $5

Law Student Non-Members: $10

Legal Support Staff: $5
