PART OF PRO BONO MARCH MADNESS
Presented by: Atlanta Legal Aid Society
CLE: 3 CLE Hours, including 1 Professionalism Hour
The Grandparent/Relative Caregiver Adoption Project trains private attorneys to conduct adoptions for the growing number of grandparents and other relatives who are raising children in the place of absent or deceased parents. Relative caregivers, many of whom are retired and living on fixed incomes, often struggle to care and provide for the new members of the household. This training will provide the information and forms needed to complete a relative adoption through Atlanta Legal Aid from the first meeting with the client through the final adoption hearing. Adoptions typically take about 20 hours of work over the course of four to six months.
