This year's best band winner was R&B Inc., a nine-member soul and R&B band whose set of mostly covers drew a clapping, cheering crowd to the front of the stage.
The winner of the "best original song" award went to country-rockers Buck O' Five for "Girl," the closing tune in their all-original set.
The other bands that competed were Nonbillable Hours, Silent & Listen, The Psychics, Comrade Blue and Class Action.
Winners were selected by a two-pronged voting system: half of the points were awarded by a three-judge panel made up of 97.1 FM "The River" DJ Kaedy Kiely, entertainment lawyer Lisa Moore of The Moore Firm, and one-time .38 Special guitarist Vic Valmus, a partner at Marietta's Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele and a former LawJam participant.
The other half of the balloting was based on unlimited Chicago-style voting, in which fans donated cash to support their favorite bands. Each dollar counted as a single vote.
