For over 30 years, the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless has actively litigated cases on behalf of clients who are homeless, and at risk of homelessness. Our staff and volunteer attorneys litigate cases that create stability for our clients including family law cases (divorce, child support, legitimation, custody), evictions/housing terminations, domestic violence related legal work (protective orders and support), unpaid wage cases, social security disability cases, unemployment cases, and probate cases where our client has been improperly denied an inheritance. We serve the masses, with over 1,000 clients coming through our offices annually for legal assistance. Clients have gone on to own homes, become business owners, send their children to college, and become stable members of society.
While we attempt to continue to serve this many people on an annual basis, your contribution is absolutely necessary for our continued existence. If we do not take these cases, they simply will not be taken. Families will remain homeless with terrible consequences for their children. Survivors of domestic violence will often return to their abusers without timely legal intervention. We invite you to contact us regarding volunteer opportunities as well, and thank you for your support. Your contribution makes a real and tangible difference to our staff and clients.
