3.5 CLE hours, including 1 Hour of Professionalism

About The Program:

Nonprofit organizations are looking for creative ways to raise money, but Georgia nonprofits and their legal advisors should be aware of the many legal requirements that govern fundraising, including both the Internal Revenue Code and the Georgia Code. This CLE (which is designed for all lawyers, not just tax lawyers) will provide an overview of §501(c)(3) organizations, an explanation of charitable solicitation registration and compliance in Georgia, a detailed overview of unrelated business taxable income and an explanation regarding its importance, an overview of Georgia sales tax and §501(c)(3) organizations, and a panel discussion addressing various specific fundraising models.

Registration Fees:

Law Student Members: $5

Law Student Non-Members: $10
