Presented by: Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta

CLE: 3 CLE Hours, including 1 Professionalism Hour

Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta hosts this practical CLE to help transactional attorneys understand the basics of §501(c)(3) Georgia nonprofit organizations. This seminar will provide an overview of the general corporate structure of nonprofit corporations in Georgia, the basic tax rules for §501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations and the limitations on how they operate (political activity, lobbying, inurement, and private benefit), charitable solicitation, unrelated business taxable income, and sales tax and property tax issues for Georgia 501(c)(3) organizations. By the end of the seminar, transactional attorneys will have a good understanding of the corporate and tax legal issues that Georgia §501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations face and will be better prepared to advise Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta clients.

Due to space limitations, advance registration and payment are required.
