WORKING WITH GEORGIA 501(C)(3) NONPROFITS 3.0 CLE hours, including 1 Hour of Professionalism   About The Program:
On the board of a nonprofit? Ever asked by a friend to provide pro bono advice to a small nonprofit? Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta hosts this practical CLE to help attorneys understand the basics of §501(c)(3) Georgia nonprofit organizations. This seminar will provide an overview of how Georgia nonprofits are structured, the basic tax rules for §501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, and the restrictions on how they operate (political activity, lobbying, inurement, and private benefit). The seminar will also cover how Georgia §501(c)(3) nonprofits solicit donations legally, how and to what extent they can raise money outside their mission, and how Georgia sales tax and property tax applies to them. By the end of the seminar, attorneys will have a good understanding of the basic legal issues facing Georgia §501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and will be better prepared to advise small nonprofits including Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta clients.   Registration Fees: Atlanta Bar Members: $40 Non-members:$90 Law Student Members: $5 Law Student Non-Members: $10 Legal Support Staff: $5   Register for three Pro Bono March Madness CLE Programs and save $20!
