Update on Atlanta Bar Events From President Walsh

Atlanta Bar Members,

I hope this finds you, your families, and your colleagues safe and healthy during this difficult time.

This morning, the Atlanta Bar Board voted to cancel/postpone all in-person Atlanta Bar Association events through the end of April. This decision was made after thorough consideration of the current coronavirus landscape. We believe this to be in the best interest of our Atlanta Bar staff, our membership, and the greater Atlanta community.

To be clear, this does not mean that the Bar is “shutting down” for the next six weeks. We hope that Sections, Boards, and Committees will continue to hold their regular meetings by phone or videoconference. We are also hopeful that at least some of the upcoming March and April events can be postponed, as opposed to canceled. The Atlanta Bar staff will remain hard at work, albeit remotely, and they will (among many other things) explore ways the Bar and Sections may potentially conduct events remotely or reschedule them.

We recognize that this is a difficult time for all, and we remain grateful for your time and your service to the Bar. If you have any questions about this decision or anything else, please feel free to reach out to Terri Bryant or me.

Ryan K. Walsh
Atlanta Bar Association President
