Administrative Assistant to Executive Director

This person will perform administrative work of the ED, the Atlanta Bar Association and Atlanta Bar Foundation. The position requires strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, polished communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work in a sometimes fast paced work environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Duties: Answers incoming calls to Association and routes them appropriately
  •  Assists the ED with administrative tasks as needed, including preparation of meeting documents, scheduling and meeting logistics, record keeping, database maintenance, etc.
  • Assists with special projects and events of the Association and Foundation; serves as liaison between vendors and Association.
  • Human Resource Duties: Executes payroll via ADP payroll system; Helps with onboarding of new employees; Maintains benefits programs, timekeeping functions, and ensures adherence to Employee Manual policies
  • Compiles and maintains benefits records and documents.

Required Skills:

  • Microsoft Office

Publications and Communications Coordinator

Large metro bar association seeks full-time Publications and Communications staffer. This person takes ownership of Sections electronic newsletters, oversight and production of The Atlanta Lawyer monthly magazine, and website development and maintenance. The ideal candidate is organized, detailed oriented, and can prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversight and production of The Atlanta Lawyer monthly digital magazine, which includes the coordination of TAL

committee meetings, assignment and collection of content, layout and design, and publication distribution

Sections newsletters

 • Website development and maintenance including maintenance of classified ads postings, creation of banner slider, update Section webpages (photo galleries, sponsor logos, blog posts)

Creation and production of event and table signage for bar wide events

Production of programs for bar wide events

Creation of promotional flyers and magazine ads

Creation of logos and graphics for various projects


Required skills:

Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator)

Experience with online publication software (JooMag, BlueToad, Issuu)

Basic knowledge of HTML and backend web development (CRM software)

Email marketing software (Constant Contact, MailChimp)

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task



Works with executive director, Association leaders and Bar staff team; serves as Team Leader for the publications editorial board (consisting of editorial chairs, editorial board members, advisors, and student liaisons).

Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) Call Center Service Representative

The Atlanta Bar Association Lawyer Referral and Information Service was designed to help the public find an attorney who is qualified to meet their legal needs. The LRIS referral experts help the caller connect with an appropriate attorney in a time-efficient and friendly manner.

Job Summary: This full-time position (35 hours/week) serves the public by interviewing, analyzing and directing callers to attorneys or other legal resources according to a specified procedure. Performs specific administrative duties relative to the referral process. Assists LRIS Director with the administration of other necessary tasks essential for operations. Duties include, but are not limited to:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Interview and analyze the legal needs of the caller through determined criteria to refer them towards the best form of assistance
  •  Maintain statistical reporting data on calls taken
  • Correspond with attorneys regarding reporting and other program operations
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of attorney reports
  • Maintain good relationship with panel attorneys to solve program issues that may arise • Scan and file membership applications and other reporting documents
  • Assist Director and other LRIS staff with special projects as needed


Required Skills:

  • Must be able to multitask; work independently, as well as with a team
  • Must have polished grammar, telephone etiquette, written and conversation skills
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
